Coming up in Chicago, Sole’s love of jazz and blues started in her younger years with her exposure to celebrated Chicago music venues like Gold Star Sardine Bar, Pops for Champagne, Green Mill, and Andy's Jazz Club, Buddy Guy’s Legends, just to name a few, as well as Coq d'Or at The Drake Hotel where she had the great pleasure of listening to and singing with the beloved Chicago legend, Buddy Charles.
“I love the authentic life force of the Chicago music venues, and it’s extraordinary music scene.” Her early exposure to the Chicago jazz and blues music scene inspired her to go off on her own musical journey and study jazz at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she earned a Bachelor degree in Jazz Vocal Performance, and enjoyed working with the many talented artists and professors in residence there.
Teaming up with fellow jazz musicians at Temple, Sole started her career as a singer in the jazz scene in Philadelphia, concretizing her love affair with jazz and blues, which remains the staple of her style and repertoire.
